Learning to trust again is hard.  Loving again seems impossible in our darkest hour. However, with the right guidance it is possible.  I know.  I am still a work in progress, but I have found an inner peace with myself.  Many others have found an inner peace with spiritual healing as well.  Below are 6 Powerful Steps To Achieve Spiritual Healing and Inner Peace.

Before I started my personal healing process, I was a mess.  When I was twenty-four years old, I lost a job that had been a dream of mine since I was nine years old.  Due to my bitterness, I lost friendships that I had for a very long time.  My family quit trusting me.  I felt all alone.  I turned to alcohol and working several part-time jobs.  I closed my heart to love.  I was miserable.

I continued to live a life of misery and turmoil until I was in a very serious car accident when I was twenty-six years old.  After the accident, I spent a month in a hospital.  I was in a wheel chair for four and a half months.  I was emotionally in the dark.  I was lost.  I needed help.

Spiritual healing is a process of discovering the cause of our imperfections.  The first step is realizing that things need to change.  Evaluate the life you are living.  Acknowledge the fact that there is a need for change.  Talk to someone.

Like many, I battled low self-esteem for years.  I was never good enough.  Alcohol helped give me the false perception of being confident.  It covered my failures.  Giving up alcohol was important.  I discovered that with God All Things Are Possible.  Accepting God into my life was one change.  Sobriety was another.

The second important step is overcoming the obstacle.  Once the core cause is found, take things slow.  Don’t rush into a major change.  For example, if low self-esteem is an issue, instead of saying “I can’t do this” try saying “I will do this”.  People will notice that the negativity is gone.  You will receive positive feedback.  Hence, you will like yourself more.

Third is to learn to laugh again. It is good to understand things can be bad, but are getting better.  Now when mistakes are made, I smile and sometimes laugh out loud.  Recognizing taking on too much can be a tough lesson to learn.  Who ever invented the game 52 Card Pick-Up had a strange, but a healing approach to life.

The fourth step is finding a higher power.  This has been mentioned twice because it is a very important aspect in spiritual healing.  Prayer is powerful and it helps a lot.  When I’m in pain I pray.  I ask others to pray.  It makes a difference.

Forgiving is the fifth important step to achieve spiritual healing and inner peace. Being able to forgive is a gift.  Bitterness is dark. Being unable to forgive hardens the heart.  Remember that we all make mistakes so let’s make it a goal to forgive. Life is too short.

The sixth step is having a purpose in life. It gives us a set time to feel important.  There are no small jobs.  Volunteering is also an option.  Churches provide opportunities for spiritual healing.  So does volunteering at community events or projects.  Take pride in your community.  Join a club.  However it is also necessary to lead a balanced life.  Enjoy yourself.  Make it a point to spend time with family and friends.  Visit new places.  Read a book. Find something to do that gives you pleasure.

Through these steps, I have found an inner peace.  I have found employment that gives me value.  I have gained trust and made new friends.  Life is still difficult at times, but life is good.

Finally, love is mentioned over 300 times in the Bible scripture.  Spiritual Healing helps us to learn to love again.  Without it we can become bitter.    We have choices.  If life seems to be spiraling in the wrong direction, consider making changes and different decisions that are more positive. Finding inner peace is possible.
